Scholarship Fund for Underrepresented Students
In order to help provide more underrepresented individuals with the opportunity to participate in a career- and life-enhancing experience abroad, and to increase racial diversity in our organization, Manna Project International has created a Program Director Scholarship Fund for underrepresented students.
This scholarship Fund is designed for U.S. college students and recent college graduates who are part of the Black, Indigenous or People of Color (BIPOC) community and also have financial need. The Fund will provide scholarships to eligible individuals to volunteer with MPI as Program Directors in Ecuador for 1 year, giving them with the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally by:
Gaining real-world experience.
Directing community programs focused on improving health, education, and livelihoods.
Receiving monthly training and mentoring in leadership and community development.
Immersing in cross-cultural teamwork and a foreign language in their professional and personal lives.
Expanding their network through connections with current MPI teammates, Ecuadorian partner organizations and program participants, and some of MPI’s over 2000 alumni.
Through the Program Director experience, BIPOC college students who are currently highly underrepresented in international education will gain valuable hands-on experience that will open doors for future careers in social justice, global business, foreign affairs, mission-driven organization management, social services & government, academia and much more.
