Literature and imagination are important to childhood development and growth. We introduced story hours a few times a week in the afternoons for our youngest neighbors.

By popular demand, we offer English classes to Shandia’s adolescents and young adults 5 times a week. These classes are meant to give a well-rounded English education, focusing on a broad range of topics from household items to grammar. Our young adult classes are driven by the students themselves and are centered around having fun and talking first and foremost.

In collaboration with the school system in Shandia, we are offering afterschool “office hours” in the Manna office. Working with the educators to stay up to date on homework and what students are learning in class, we’re offering homework help, access to computers for classwork and learning, and learning opportunities to complement what’s going on inside the classrooms.

We’re offering English classes to kids in the communities of Shandia and Iliyaku. Our classes focus mostly on the joys of learning a language and developing interesting and passion in the process of language learning.

We have the joy of creating afterschool, completely non-academic camp-like activities for kids in Shandia and neighboring communities. After school hours, many kids have no organized activities in the community and are left to their own devices. In collaboration with the local school system, Manna plans organized fun for the youth that lets them run around, scream, be creative, and get out some of their energy.
