The Alternative Spring Break (ASB) program is in its seventh year at Worcester State University. Ten students will be working with a non-profit agency located in Managua called Manna Project International (MPI). MPI was founded by a group of graduated Vanderbilt students. This nonprofit organization aims to provide college students and recent college graduates with the opportunity to apply their knowledge, skills and expertise in order to advance the well-being and increase the independence and self-sufficiency of those living in the developing world. The WSU Nicaragua Service Team will be actively engaged in service-learning while in Managua. The team will be participating in seminars, forums, and informal discussions with community leaders to become educated on the social and political issues in Managua. Be sure to follow along with us during this incredible week of service.
